Q. When is the best time for a newborn shoot?
A. The best time for one of these sessions is in the first 5 – 12 days after birth. At this time the baby is still very sleepy and posing the baby is a much easier. Later than 2 weeks old and the baby will have not only grown and changed considerably since birth (losing that “newborn look”), but they become much more reactive and less calm during the shoots. They also may develop baby acne or colic. A relaxed, chilled-out environment is key and plenty of time will be allowed (and encouraged) for feeding etc. Full babies are usually happy sleepy babies.
Q. How long is a session?
A. I dont like to put a time frame on newborn sessions. Every baby is different. Some will sleep the whole time, and we can be done in under an hour, and others fuss and fuss and take up to three hours.
Q. When do I see my photos?
A. You will receive a link to your photos within two weeks after your shoot has been completed. From there you can discuss if you would like any printed or would like to have us create a coffee table book or greeting cards for you.
Q.When should I book my session?
A. It is best to book as far in advance as possible to avoid disappointment. To book your session we require 50% of your session fee paid in advance.
Q.When is the best time for a shoot?
A. It is best to arrange a shoot for when the baby is sleepy and fed. Try to feed your baby before your shoot. A relaxed, chilled out environment is key and plenty of time will be allowed (and encouraged) for feeding and soothing etc during your shoot.
Q.Will we be in the photos?
A. If you would like! We can do shots of you holding your baby. Just ask.
Q. What should I wear?
A. Babies hate being cold, especially when their not wearing clothes. A warm room also tends to keep the babies sleepy. For this reason we keep the studio very warm. Dress lightly as it can get very hot.
